Girls Soccer: The team traveled to DeLaSalle on Saturday and took the loss 5 to 1. The team had won their previous two matches against Alexandria 3 -1 and Fergus Falls 7 to 0. This gives the team a record of 7 - 4 overall. The team looks great, but they have had a ton of injuries this year. In the Fergus Falls game Karli Hiltner had a hat trick with 3 goals, but unfortunately she broke her collar bone in the next game. Please make sure to give her tons of support as her season is probably over and she was our leading scorer and having an amazing year.
Football: The Apollo football team made it two in row as we beat Princeton 21-15 on Friday night. The Eagles got touchdowns from Neal Benson, Nick Gill and Keon McCray. Schanonn Spears Jr caught 7 passes for 111 yards. The Apollo offensive line made up of Keagon Kreller, Tyler Corrow, Austin Hagen-Young, Isaac Erickson Thoemke and Mitch Alvord lead the way on the ground with team getting 280 yards rushing. Defensively Chris Hance lead the team with 13 tackles.
Cross CountryThe team did a great job in the world's largest Cross Country Running Meet. Sophomore Ahmed Cariif ran the winning time in the boys 3A race at the Milaca Mega meet and senior Ayanle Hashi ran the runner up time. Junior Julia Karls led the girls team with a 21:57 on hot, humid day
Girls Swimming The coach was so impressed with how these ladies swam against Holdingford. Here are some of the highlights of the meet. Kaylie Stroeing swam the 500 free for the first time this season and won the event! Katie LaFave, Lexi Knadel, Maggie Ringsmuth, and Bethany Knopp also swam the 500 free. We see some real potential in these distance swimmers. Maggie and Bethany raced each other during the 500 and it paid off because Maggie dropped 3 seconds! Kyra, Taya, and Destiny all had best times in the 50 free! Destiny is very close to breaking a minute. We know she will get there by the end of the season! Sarah Nerud had a HUGE PR (personal record) last night. She dropped 17 seconds in her 100 breaststroke!
Volleyball The Volleyball team has been playing amazing Team ball this year. Every game they play is exciting and they are really playing well. This last week they had two touch opponents Brainerd and Alexandria. They lost a nail bitter to Brainerd 3 to 2, and Alex 3 to 0. There next game is Tuesday verses Fergus Falls. Adapted Soccer The Thunder are playing amazing again this year - winning there first match 11 - 0 over Robbin/Hop/M west. They play this Tuesday at North against Minnetonka/Wayzata.
